Halogen Headlight Pinouts

Post by Trickydicky »

I am fitting a pair of Halogen headlights this weekend as the join where the glass front meets inner is rusting away, can anyone confirm if the pinouts in the diagram below are correct? I found it after searching the web but there are conflicting answers to the question on other sites.

Cheers

I'm sure the common is the centre lug. Find the others by trial and error.
Edit : Ooops - sorry - got it wrong - TD and Richard have it right - the diagram is correct.

The centre connection looks as if it should be the common or earth, but it is not.

The picture you show is correct for H4 looking at the back of the bulb.

Thanks for the replys, Halogen headlights fitted and working without any hassle whatsoever, I can confirm the pinouts in the above diagram are correct. The hardest job was finding my crimping tool at the bottom of the tool box to fit the replacement connector :D
I managed to pick up the headlights from my local motor factors for the grand sum of £9.99 each and they are wipacs so it has made the job even more satisfying by not having to pay postage!!!

Think I will celebrate with sip of red tonight with the money I have saved!!!
