Missing from my bonnet?

There's no bracing or reinforcement of the underside of my early 1959 tourer bonnet, hence nowhere to fasten a bonnet stay to.

I can't make out from the Mossalogue how or exactly where the Anti-drum Strip, Crossmember, and Bonnet Stiffener Rods fit. Can anyone explain, please?

A replacement bonnet might be the answer - you can imagine how I wept at the photos of them being used as sledges in a recent thread.

The crossmember attaches to the bonnet so that it sits in the recesses in the tops of the inner wings. There is a bracket on the cross member to attach the bonnet stay and another bracket on the bulkhead level with the top of the battery box. Two braces attach to the bonnet hinges at either end and to the crossmember at two points in the middle. Another cross brace attaches to the previous braces

Thanks, Mike. The combination of your description and a photo of the underside of a bonnet that's appeared on ebay have, between them, explained it.

I'll put up a "wanted" for a bonnet; either a good one, or one with a poor skin but sound skeleton. I can't imagine welding the crossmember in is going to do my paintwork much good, but it might also solve the cracking I've got to the bonnet flange.

Just drill and pop rivet the ends of the crossmember to the bonnet flange, it worked on my MM, can't see them when the bonnet is closed.
I gave away a bonnet a few months ago!

I had the same problem, and luckily came across a loose crossmember. I went ahead and welded it in -- didn't hurt too much of the paintwork, although some touching up is necessary.
