Exhaust difference?

Post by welshrat »

Can anyone let me know how the saloon and van/pickup (not side exit type) exhausts differ, is it length and or shape? Cant really see much of a differnce from pics.

The van and pick up all have side exit exhausts as standard as the chassis rails and tele shockers get in the way of a saloon or traveller type system.
I have personally made my own rear exit exhaust for my pick up and the noise reduction is huge! 8) :D
Maybe the pic's you are looking at are incorrectly marked as van/pick up if they show a straight system

I thought that I had read that not all vans/pickups came with a side exit exhaust, however, I may have got this wrong and the strait through ones were fitted by their owners as in your case.

Told it has been fitted to a van and pickup (no reason to question the seller) in the past, looked the same shape as a saloon pipe (3 into 1 manifold not shown) to me so took a punt, 40 quid for a used stainless steel, inch and a half exhaust seemed a fair price. Guess I'm not gonna know if it fits until the spring when I try fitting it!

Well lets hope you have a result, maybe it will clear the obstacles but as previously mentioned it's not the original set-up

The original set up would have only had one silencer so there would be more room for the tail pipe
