Tuning minors
Is there a secton for tuning minors as I am thinking of getting one. I am just wanting to make it go at a normal speed not fast or anything. I was thinks K and N a straigh through big bore exhaust intally mainfold. Then may be a sports coil ported polished head fast road cam lightened fly wheel high lift valves disk brakes. This is a long term thinking I was just wondering if you can buy much in the way of tunning stuff and is it cheap. As I see many normal parts are amazingly well priced but have not found any tunning stuff for sale any where.

Joining the owners club will be money well spent as the specialists advertise in the club magazine. You'll be able to find everything you are looking for, and other stuff which is more important/worthwhile too.
(engine tuning parts are the same as any A-series, but you won't get much benefit from tuning a moggy engine unless you upgrade the rest of the car)

The tuning parts are the same as the Mini tuning parts, which there is a sea of!
The only difference is that you have to start with an in-line engine (Moggy type) as opposed to a transverse Mini engine. All the rest of the bits are the same.
In my Moggy I have a 1275 Morris Ital engine bored out to 1380cc with a modified Metro head (big valve, ported etc), Kent cam, etc, etc. All the tuning parts were from Mini places and MED did all the maching for me as they are Mini race engine specialists.
Have a look at: http://potteries.mmoc.org.uk/Members_Ca ... 9_1000.htm
And feel free to ask any questions!

Start with modifications to the brakes and suspension this will ensure that
A) You will get where you are going.
B) You will get there sooner
C) you will get there with a smile on your face not an oxygen mask.
Then as our learned friends have already said, Mini items (with the exception of the manifold & exhaust) are the direction to look.
Start with a 12G295 head (key this into ebay - there's usually 1 or 2)
Alloy inlet manifold and SU HIF38 carb. Stainless exhaust for a 948cc car and oversize system for a 1098CC (See www.maniflowonline.co.uk).
Finally get the thing set up on a rolling road.

Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.
