Steering rack v horn, horn winning

Post by southerly95 »

Fitted new rack this eve but horn blaring at one point when putting column back on splines. Hadn't removed steering wheel etc tho.

Disconnected horn to get rack job done so will have to look again tomorrow - any ideas what to look for?

Thanks for replies to grease priming of new rack, regards, John

It's just shorting out the connection on the column....... Disconnect the battery! Then investigate the position of the outer column relative to the inner - and the horn push.
