Distributor
Hi folks
Im sure this has been asked before but just to clarify.
Will a 45D electronic distributor fit my 948cc 1962 Minor?
Any questions please ask and I will try and shed as much light on the engine side of things.
Thanks
Barny

Re: Distributor
Well BMC is a good indicator
Are there any wiring diagrams of that area of the engine? In my moggie i have some loose HT yellow cables and have no idea where they go.

Re: Distributor
The 45D Distributor is a more modern design. Other than that they are pretty similar I think.
When you say two loose HT leads, do you mean the small cables that attatch to either side of the coil? Should be white/black and white from memory. Which one goes where depends on your polarity (pos/neg earth).

Re: Distributor
The car is positive earth. They are def yellow. I will take a detailed pic soon to show you.
Re: Distributor
The colour coded wiring diagram that Barry made is displayed at the top of this section......print off a copy and laminate it. But you say 'HT' leads ??? What IS the problem?? There are only 5 HT cables - one from coil to dizzy and 4 from dizzy to plugs..

Re: Distributor
Is the electronic dissy usable for Positive earth set up?

Re: Distributor
It's easy enough to change the car to negative earth, well worth doing if you might want to fit a radio or other modern electronics to the car.

Re: Distributor
Just go to the first post at the head of the electrical section for the diagram! And you would be well advised to change to -ve earth asap. Electrical matters are best discussed in, surprisingly, the Electrical Section!

Re: Distributor
