)Thing is now I have a job to do, restoring a Minor pick up for someone else and I want to get things right, or at least as right as is realistic.

So far I've had some great responses and a lot of info, along with a lot of favourable comments about the progress thus far, which is great and very very much appreciated.
But, I need more, I'm at the stage where a whole bunch of things need refinishing, prior to the big jigsaw puzzle that is reassembly. Please if you can spare a minute to have a look at the last couple of posts in the thread and see if you can answer any of the questions for me. Thanks in advance.
