CHASSIS
I see that Charles Ware's MM Centre sells a chassis for the van and pickup. Are they good quality? Has anyone here bought one and are they pleased with what they bought? How smooth was the chassis swap? Thanks. Andrew
Re: CHASSIS
Don't know about their chassis but previously available ones apparently needed a few things altering. Maybe these ones have got better! As for swapping them over, I've only done it when everything was stripped down, then built up on the chassis. You would need to jack the whole vehicle up under the bodywork after removing the engine to do it any other way, then unbolt and drop the chassis, not really an option considering the ground clearance you would need, plus the safety aspect while you're underneath!
Re: CHASSIS
Thanks Les for responding and Chris (via PM). Does anyone else do a chassis for the van/pickup?
Re: CHASSIS
Yes, some chap makes them to order, quite expensive but apparently spot on. I think you will find him under www. unseenprojects.com or similar. If not others may direct you better. phone 07910680804. Info taken from Spring 2010 lcv mag.

Thanks Louise.

DKK 11.000,00 = 1187.6150 British pounds sterling apparently.
Made in Sri Lanka but not by Mr ware, by a Danish chaps workshop.

Re: CHASSIS
The expensive new chassis' are excellent so I'm told!
Lots of faffing around needed for the Ceylon things!

Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!
Re: CHASSIS
Thanks for the info, especially the Danish source. In the fullness of time I might have to get a complete chassis for the pickup but at the moment the present chassis will do for a few more years. I would be interested to hear from anyone who have done the chassis swap. I will be visiting Maurice at MTR soon so I can have a chat with too first hand.
Re: CHASSIS
Well you've heard from me and I don't think you will find an alternative method. however let us know what the mtr company say!
Re: CHASSIS
Will keep you guys posted about any latest development concerning the chassis project.
