HELP with Club Spares Collection NR104NQ

Post by spike_esq »

CAN ANYONE OFFER SOME ASSISTANCE

I need to collect two doors from Club Spares Norwich NR104NQ Bryan Gostling. My place is Bath BA1 3QF. For me this is a round trip of some 500miles. Was wondering if anyone traveling to Norwich might pick them up and bring them closer to my place. Any offer of help will save on my fuel bill and time. Just a thought. Thanks for looking. Any offer of help considered.

THIS KIND, CONSIDERATE AND HELPFUL PERSON MIGHT JUST BE YOU.

Not a direct offer of help, I'm sorry to say, but a suggestion that may also be of interest to others with large or awkward spares to collect.

There are now a number of websites which give you the chance to list what you want collecting, where from, and where to. Transport firms, ranging from man-and-van operators to bigger firms, then bid against each other for the job. often being able to offer a good price because they'd otherwise be returning empty or part-loaded.

For example, I got quotes to move 4 Land Rover wheels and tyres from Preston to Derby. It would have cost me £30 in diesel and several hours of M6 misery, even in an economical modern estate car. The quotes rolled in, and soon got down to £29. I missed out on that one, because the person I was collecting from was slow to reply, but I started the process again and finished up paying £42 for a next-day delivery. No intermediate sorting hubs, so no packaging needed.

I used shiply.com then anyvan.co.uk, but there's also uship.com and many others. The firm who actually delivered to me were homeship.co.uk, and I can't fault them.

Hi Kevin,
Many thanks for the suggestions. It was homeship.co.uk who came to the rescue and at a very reasonable price. There was a problem because the seller would not pack the doors in any, way, shape or form. Wasn't that a poor performance. So had to explain that to the carrier. Homeship truly brilliant and would certainly recommend to all. No fuss, no bother.....spot on.
Thanks again.....Regards....Harry.
