Fitting a split screen seal on later round screen car?

Post by 504ka »

I was wondering if anyone has ever fitted a split screen windscreen seal or seal of a similar style to a later round screen car? The round screen seal sits on-top of the body outside of the windscreen "hole" and in my opinion makes the windscreen look larger and newer, the split screen seal seems to sit inside of the hole making for a more sleek but also classic look. So has anyone ever seen this done or has experience with fitting both split screen and round seals and could advise as to whether a split screen seal could be used? If not does anyone know of any specialist seal suppliers who may be able to help?

The windscreen seal is what it is.....the split screen opening is a different shape. Best place to ask about alternative seals would be Autoglass.....somewhere like that.

The one piece windscreen is much larger than the split screen so nothing from the split screen will fit

Cheers guys, I was guessing the one piece would be larger. Is the cross section of the two seals similar though? I cant seem to find any pictures of either seals on the internet but in pictures of spilt screens without windows there does seem to be a similarity in how the windscreen fits.

Fitting a split screen is an entirely different can of worms
