There are two orange lights. One is for 'low oil pressure', the other is for 'change oil filter'.

Which is which is anyone's guess! If anyone has ever had the speedo out, there's no telling if they put the right lamp back in the right place!

You should normally get an orange and a red light come on when you switch on the ignition. Red is the ignition light, and the orange one that's on will be the low oil pressure light. If it's the other orange light that's coming on now, it means you oil filter is in desperate need or replacement!

Either that, or someone has used that warning light to signify something else at some point in the cars life. For instance, mine tells me when my electric fan is on. Some other people use it as an indicator pilot light.

If this light is on constantly now, a quick check is to unplug the wire off the oil pressure light switch. If the light goes out, then that light relates to the oil switch.

You MUST have an orange light when you first turn on the IGN - it's your warning light for low oil pressure. Any orange light when the engine is running indicates an oil problem - so I suggest an urgent change of oil and filter - use 20W50 oil.

You should have the following warning lights in your speedo. Anti clockwise from bottom right.
Red ignition light. Brown/Yellow and White wires
Orange low oil pressure. Green/Brown wires. Check wire is connected to oil pressure sensor on engine
Panel light. Red/White wire
Ditto
Orange oil filter warning light. Green/Yellow wires. Check wire is connected to oil filter. If you have a canister oil filter this light will be spare.
Blue main warning light. Blue/White wire.
Check all warning lights are in the correct holes

Thanks Mike , taken my lights out , need to check where they fit back !

Not that the IGN light goes out now , something with how the alternator conversion was wired in( unless I fitted a duff alternator but charges at around 14v ish.

Always if low pressure light on check the dipstick - its more a no oil light ( or was on mine )

I was going to ask what the other orange warning light on the speedo was. The oil pressure warning on my speedo has always been above the main beam warning. I guess it must have been replace as such at some point before I took ownership of the car.
