Loose fit on torsion bar spline

Post by don58van »

Hi All

I have just disassembled the front suspension on my Traveller. On one side, the front arm is a bit loose on the spline. It can move perceptibly in all directions.
Should I be replacing the bar, the arm or both? Is one of the two more likely to have worn?
As far as I know, these parts aren't available new, so should I start hunting for s/h parts in good condition?
Cheers
Don

Yes - I suggest you replace BOTH parts. Unusual problem I have to say!

Unheard of in my experience.
Replace with parts from the same side as torsion bars settle over the years.
