I'm nearing the end of my marathon restoration , i am trying to fit the interior trim this weekend , i have 2 waist rail fillets that fit behind the waist rail somehow , do they fit behind the waist rail or half inside and below the edge does the interior trim screw to this or tuck up behind the waist rail , i have an original waist rail but there are no markings on it to use as a guide , i have looked at my old pics but they're not that obvious and i have checked the blow up diagrams of the traveller woodwork but it doesn't really show the fixed position, any pics or a description would be a great help

Can you identify the fillets on a parts diagram, then we can see exactly which pieces you're trying to locate

hi simmitc, it is part number 8 on this picdoes it fit flush up to the bottom edge of number 9 and then the part number 7 covers the two or does part 8 have a gap between it and part 9 ?

After the aluminium panels have been located, the fillet (8) sits over the panels and snug against the waist rail (9). Use of the fillet avoids distortion of the panels. The capping (7) then screws to the waist rail. The important positioning with that is to just cover the window channel, but to ensure that the catch for the windows is at the height so that the windows can be both locked and opened; and the front metal capping sits just on the inner window channel. When all fitted correctly, there will be a gap between the capping and the fillet, into which the top of the trim panels will slide. Hope that makes sense.

thanks for the info and speedy reply managed to fit them but found i'd fitted the window channels wrongly as well so haveto whip em out and re seat them just copied the originals which had been fitted wrongly too hence the previous extreme rot probs.
