What is the difference between dynamo and alternator

How many accessories do you run at the same time? As long as the ammeter shows a charge for most of the time then a dynamo is adequate.
I can argue both cases as I have a dynamo on my Series MM and an alternator on my 1275.

It boils down to personal choice,I will never understand why this change produces so much passion ,when other changes e.g.poly bushes,stainless steel exhausts,9 inch from drums ,five speed box etc.pass almost unnoticed :-? :-? :-?

Oh the 9" W drums don't pass unnoticed !! Just the supply is limited - or everyone would have them! :D
