Flushing oil mishap!

Post by rogerowen »

Thought I'd treat my daughters 948 to an oil change ahead of her holiday trip to Cornwall. Found a tin of flushing oil in the workshop and thought it might as well be used up. Flushing was in progress when I noticed a bit of bubbling and oil leakage from a head nut. Worse still, I think some of the thin flushing oil managed to seep past the rear of the crankshaft and got to the clutch as the car now judders badly pulling off in first or reverse. Think this might fit in with the 'If it ain't broke - don't fix it' logic!
That's strange R2, the damage doesn't look so bad from here!
