Minor Problems
I am 16 and renovating a morris minor split screen. The speedo was broken when i bought it and i have now purchased a replacement, i have placed all the fitting back in but the new one doesn't work! Could anyone give me help into how i can fix this problem?

It could be the speedo cable or pinion that is broken. You can test speedos are working by running them (backwards/anticlockwise) with an electric drill. Try pulling the cable off the gearbox end and getting a helper to attach a drill (by the chuck) to the cable at the speedo end while you watch the gearbox end (drills are very important tools for speedos ;)). If it doesn't spin, or doesn't spin when you hold it, it is the cable. Or it could simply be that the speedo cable is not pushed far enough into the speedo head.

Have you got the large speedo in the middle of the dash or the small one in front of the driver? Which ever you have, make sure that the replacement has the same TPM, the four figs after the serial no. on the dial as the original or the gearing will be wrong. If the car is a Series 2 with the original engine and box the TPM should be 1000
