voltage stabiliser

re. my post about my faulty fuel gauge a few weeks ago ,does anyone know where i can purchase a voltage stabiliser from.
I believe bcmcosse wrote that someone on this forum bought one from maplins ,if anyone knows where i can get hold of one of these i would be most graetfull and if they are still available at maplins and if so what do i ask for as they seem to employ the younger generation that" may" not know what on earth i'm talking about
