New wings
Looking to buy some front wings for my 53 splitty as the existing are rotten ! What i'd like to now is ..do all " high light" wings fit all models ? I see the differance with the side lights and indicators but as far as I can see there only seems to be later type wings about i.e a bit hole under the headlamp where the indicator sits. Do you just fill it up ? cheers Dan

Re: New wings
All highlight wings will fit all highlight Minors and saying that all rear wings will fit all Minors.
Like me though, the front wings indicator/side light hole will need blocking off also if replacing the rear wings and looking for originality you'll need the high arch ones. But again you may need to modify the rear light holes.

Re: New wings
Errrrrr - Traveller rear wings are different to Saloon rear wings........ So all wings do not fit all Minors......

Re: New wings
Also there are different wings for the chessgrater front panel, the later wings would fit but it would leave an unsightly gap...

Re: New wings
Mine are later wings, the chrome hockey stick holes need redrilling thats all. I don't have a gap, not sure where the previous poster means.
Who ever you purchase the wings off, just make sure they confirm they'll fit your model.

Re: New wings
The cheesegrater grill is wider than the later grill so you could do with trimming a bit off a later wing (and welding the big indicator hole up as side light is in the grill panel). Or you could just leave a large overlap of wing behind the front panel but its an untidy way of doing it and could trap mud and start things rusting.
cheers

Re: New wings
I was under the impression that the cheesegrater grill was a different shape, I didn't want the OP to end up with some wings that didn't fit. thankfully you and IaianTenbury have cleared it upDean wrote:Mine are later wings, the chrome hockey stick holes need redrilling thats all. Re: New wings
You'd end up with a gap if you fitted cheesegrater wings to a 1000 type grill, but thats a fairly unlikely scenario.

cheers
