I also know of a man who has a transporter, but as of yet have had no reply to my offer :roll:

Doesn't matter now. I couldn't get access to a trailer. And I some one else the chance to have it. He was 2nd in line. But hey ho you win some and you loose some. Still hasn't put me off getting a Morris Minor

The Highway Code Rule 98 states

In the event of a breakdown, be aware that towing a vehicle on a tow rope is potentially dangerous. You should consider professional recovery.

So nothing there about it being against the law to use a tow rope.
