Hi,
I have been offered a fully reconditioned MARINA 1.1 VAN ENGINE. Will the exhaust manifold and carburetters fit from a 1.3 Marina engine. I am fitting it to a 1968 Morris Minor Pickup using a modified bell housing, Ford Cortina 2000, 5 speed gearbox and Ford Capri 1600 rear axle. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
PHILIP JONES 51.

Did they do a 1.1? It must have been gutless in a Marina van

The Marina 7cwt van had a 1098 LC (7.5:1CR). It would be worth checking if it was reconditioned with low compression parts.
It looks very similar to the Minor 1098 unit. It had both the 1 1/4 and 1 1/2 SU fitted at various stages so the manifold and carb from the 1300 will fit, although the needle will be different. The std one was a ABN in the 1 1/2.

The manifold from the 1300 will fit the 1098. However the exhaust outlet is bigger and will require a larger bore exhaust, unless of course, if that's what you already have fitted.

43 bhp as opposed to 48bhp I think. I'll let you know how much difference it makes when I get my low comp council-issue saloon on the road!
