Hello
the thinner half of the lower wishbone has been fractured at the jaw. The new part including lower ball joint etc is due to arrive tomorrow. Any tips on easy replacement will be gratefully received
Many thanks
Steve

Re: wishbone
Hi there
It is a 1968 morris minor
definately has a wishbone as it's the thin wishbone lower arm which has just been ordered from Bull motif.
My mistake re 'ball joint' - I meant to say lower trunnion kit.

Re: wishbone
Basically just follow the procedure laid out in the manual, taking suitable safety precautions regarding supporting the car. As it is the thin front half that has fractured, you do not need to remove the rear arm at all, or disconnect the torsion bar, so that makes it pretty simple: Release tie bar from the yoke (no need to undo the front) remove the yoke, undo front inner and outer fulcrum pin nuts, remove final bolt holding the two halves of the arm together, remove the front (broken) arm. Refit in reverse order. Tighten nuts with normal load on the suspensions, ie car on level ground.

needed to know that there was no connection to the torsion bar before I began

Re: wishbone
Method detailed in 'another place' - but it's definitely NOT a 'wishbone' !! Have to ask though - why on earth does it need replacing??
