Post by edd_barker »

Hello,

Going to change the oil in my front and rear shocks, Machine Mart do an SAE 40 compressor oil, I'm assuming that I can use this?

Thanks,

Yes, but at what price? Tesco sell 30 or 40 (I can't remember which) for Lawnmowers in their gardening section... last lot I bought was about £2.99/litre...

Its about £6 for a litre I think. From other discussions on this forum, Tesco only do SAE 30, and SAE 40 is supposed to be superior?

If so then the extra few quid is worth it I imagine.

Thanks!

Try SAE 30, I doubt you'll be disappointed with the result.

It's a bit expensive -and you won't need anything like a litre. But it WILL be worth it!! Have you tried a motorbike place - just don't get fobbed off with expensive 'fork oil'......
