Hello
We recently acquired a Morris Minor engine. Today we discovered it is an Morris 1000 van closed circuit breather engine. Could you please help us by telling us what this means and how/ if it works differently from the normal 1098cc engine?

It's a really good idea - the valve on the inlet manifold closes during idling to preserve nice smooth idle, and opens when running to suck away the nasty oil fumes. The diaphragm in the valve needs to be in good condition.........

No idea -I suppose it's possible since it was a 'Leyland' thing. But I guess it was done on the A series mainly to try to contain rear crankshaft scroll leaks.
