MM1000 gearbox mounts

I am replacing the two rubber mounts for the gearbox and have taken them off the metal mounts that are on the gearbox. My questions are which way up does the mount go. On the side that goes against the cross member mount has a flat metal piece and one end is flush with the rubber and the other end sits out a little with an idented piece in the middle which runs back down flush with the rubber. Does this identation go to the top or the bottom.
Also where the mounts sit on the cross member they slide down a V shaped section then the nut is tightened. Do you fix the mount any particular spot on this V or just let it go to the bottom and the tighten the nut.

It's flush at the top, I've always sat them right down.
