Exhaust Information

Post by welshrat »

I have managed to pick up a LCB manifold for my minor recently and I am now considering a few options regarding the exhaust system. Ideally would like a standard shape in 1.5 inch but too mean to pay the silly price wanted for them, sure I read somewhere that a reducing pipe from the LCB to the standard exhaust works well? There appears to be a 0.8 and a 1.1 minor version for sale, do these figures relate to the pipe diameter? Anyone know if there are any reasonably priced larger bore systems available or of an alternative system in 1.5 that can be used (not really wanting to go for a side exit).

Unless the engine is otherwise uprated - no point fitting an LCB - in fact it may lose you power.......

You could try at an exhaust fitter's 'scrap' exhaust bin for a box and length of pipe. And you can purchase new pipes of various angles and bores. I have fabricated one or two before BUT it does require a lot time and effort.
