Pre MOT Jitters !!.

Post by Courthouse/Tom »

Is this just a man thing ??. MOT due Thursday, and i'm a bag of nerves, bad tempered,on a short fuse, growling and snarling at everyone, and breaking out in cold sweats .Its got to be pre MOT tension,i'd have thought by my age ,i would have got over by now !!.
Do we all suffer from this,if so,whats the cure ??. :D :) :D[frame]Image[/frame]

Fully agree I'm always wound up on the day and convince myself its not going to pass, because I know about theres a tiny hole in the floor that has grown in my head to the size of a football when he taps it with his plastic hammer.
That the MOT guy just says 'keep an eye on that its not in a prescribed area'! :D
I'll see you on the otherside'!

I must be lucky I suppose. MOT's are not something that worry me. I take my cars to a fantastic garage that really understand old cars. They've been there for about 100 years and are a bit more sympathetic than a modern all singing, all dancing place. :D

I used to be like that, but not anymore. You should try the Northern Ireland MOT system and then you will know about nervousness :D

Agree with you their minor 65, we should have the same or simillar here on the mainland. that will sort the rust buckets out and take a few moderns off the road at the same time.

My Minor is going for an MOT tomorrow and finding some spare time to take it to the garage has been a bit stressful but I'm not getting into a panic about the actual MOT. Either it will pass or it won't! Try not to get too worked up about it Courthouse/Tom - you don't want to end up crashing it on the way to the test because you're sweating so much that you can't get a good grip on the steering wheel :)

I'm with Louise on this, just sort out anything easy and obvious like blown bulbs then take it for the test.

Save your panic for when you need to get a modern car mot'd. You at least know Minors can be fixed at home! :D

So PMOT rather than PMT - at least it comes around once a year rather than once a month :)

I have just had my 53 Series 2 MOTd on Sarurday just gone for the first time since I bought it and carried out a lot of work on it and will also agree about the nerves prior to the test , but what a great feeling on the 6 mile drive home and knowing I now have a year to enjoy Morris Minor motoring for the first time
