Engine Number Query

Post by silloyd »

I have a spare engine with the number 'RKM1105E'.

I think the 'RKM' bit may mean it's a Silver Seal unit but I'm not ever so sure.

Can anyone help me on this please?

RKM number is a factory recon, so it would have been either silver or gold seal. Some others believe there was a blue seal, a red seal and god knows what else too

Thanks for the confirmation.

I think the 'E' means a closed breather systems but anyone know what the numbers mean?

The numbers relate to the size of rebore / level of work carried out and the job number. No records of these exist to decode the numbers though as far as I know.....

That's a shame but thanks for the reply.

Guess I'll have to check it over carefully when I eventually get to overhaul it.
