Leaky fuel pipe in engine!!!!!

Just back in from work, my Mrs. tried to go out in the Moggie today but my son spotted a 'drip' they both said petro l. My son thinks fuel pipe from pump to carb. He tried to tighten up jubilee clip on end,no joy. So what can I fit ,temporarily of course, as the car must perform duties 'til Saturday. The pipe is braided stainless at present, I think jubilee clips either end.
Sorry to ask,but what diameter pipe should I get?

I think 5/16". Any auto place should have one. The braiding is just cosmetic- it's a rubber pipe under the braid........ You can use a reinforced plastic pipe.

Get a length of proper fuel line and the correct size jubilee clips from a motorist shop. DO NOT use ordinary rubber or any other sort of pipe.

Cheers guys, I was aware that specialist fuel line was needed, but cheers for the "heads up" 'cos I can be that dim sometimes. Just had a look with a torch and a chat to my son who spotted the leak and we kinda worked out its more likely to be a leak from the carb area,maybe a stuck float, though my Mrs. reported that the fuel pump was going like a demented Woodpecker as well, a bit of tinkering in the morning I feel! I've just got a new exhaust and ( i hope) a decent back up fuel pump. Moggies, don'tcha just love 'em I still haven't got annoyed with it yet, I did curse some rusted nuts on Monday though.
