Re: Ineresting website
Problem with that figure is that I wonder how many Minors are actually listed as such on the logbook? Both of mine just say "Morris" for make and "Saloon" for body type, with the model section being left blank. A search for Morris missing shows 7800 taxed cars (with another 2000 SORNed) without specific model data. I presume the majority of them are Minors, given that they're overwhelmingly the most common surviving Morris vehicle.
Same story with both of my motorcycles - just says "Suzuki" and "Yamaha", with no model listed. According to that site, there are no Suzuki GN400s either taxed or SORNed in the entire country, and a grand total of 9 Yamaha RXS100s. I suspect there are a few hundred of the former and a good few thousand of the latter kicking about. Sure enough a search for "Suzuki missing" turns up 37,000 vehicles taxed and 30,000 SORNed, with even greater numbers for Yamaha.

Re: Ineresting website
I recently returned my V5 to DVLA because there were mistakes on it:
The make said "Rover" & the model " Mini Minor"
also there was a mistake in the chassis number, the letter"S" was down as number"5"
it came back today, after about 2 months. They have got "Morris Minor" right (so perhaps there is now another Moggie in the system!) but still failed to correct the chassis number.
I phoned them & they said "send it back again".
So I have.
Here's hoping!

Re: Ineresting website
crikey! As you say I bet there are a LOT of those about. That's the only bike (or indeed 'vehicle') that's I've ever bought brand new.a grand total of 9 Yamaha RXS100s.
As well as missing Morris minors, there is a large proportion of Minor commercials listed as Austin LCV
