Plastic headlamp holders AKA "Bobbies Helmets"

Hello all, I am new to the club and I own a 1969 saloon. when doing extensive undersealing and waxoiling one noticed that there is serious corrosion around the bobbies helmets and surrounding area. I am wondering if anyone on here has used the plastic versions, if so are they value for money and of a good quality. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Kyle, welcome to the forum!

I have used the plastic ones before but found them difficult to attach the outer chrome rim to as they didnt seem to be such a good fit.

Thank you, I think I might try them anyway as they are so cheap online and if they don't fit I will have some steel ones to back me up. Thanks for your post.

I have used them on my cars, excellent for preventing the rust trap.

Very much so, dirt and water get thrown up from the front wheel and accumulate there.

Mud is trapped above the bowl and rots the wing upper front edge. The plastic bowls are fine for me !

It is still worth getting the hose pipe in there when washing the car
