I've worked on lots of Minors over the years but never come across this before.
One of our customers has brought their late 50's 4-door in for welding work.
It needs complete new floors, spring hangers and rear legs.
Last week I replaced the passenger floor and repaired the bottom of the front inner arch and the bottom of the toe-board.
Question is;-
On the toe-board about half way between the inner arch 'dome' and the gearbox tunnel, 3-4 inches up from the floor pan is a 1-2 inch diameter hole covered by what looks like a 'Factory' panel screwed to the floor.
Does anyone know what this hole is there for?
Sadly I've 'lost' half the hole with a welded repair. Is it worth re-instating the whole hole (

Any ideas anyone?
Thanks for reading.
