Deep cleaning my seat

Post by stag36587 »

In this shocking weather I am looking for jobs to do indoors. My seats are in a filthy state - mud, grease etc. but otherwise 3 out of 4 are damage free. I plan to restore them - new foam and webbing and replace the seat base cover on the driver's seat.

What have people found to be the best cleaning products for the vinyl please?

Thanks

Avoid products with bleach, but other than that the vinyl is tough stuff. I like vanish soap, the proper bar of soap and a new nail brush for scrubbing with. Great job! Then when your happy that its as clean as you can get it something like son of a gun gives it a good finish. 8)

I used sugar soap on mine! It removed 40 years of grime and they came up like new!

Agree - Vanish soap and scrubbing brush, Mr Muscle Kitchen helps with the greasy bits, and Cif (Jif) yellow cream will help to remove old tar (underseal) marks on vinyl seats :D
