radio code

Post by jtd.75 »

Hi everyone and a happy new year. what I am about to ask is not a morris related question but a ford escort car radio. over the past couple of weeks the car had not been used which resulted in a flat battery (it was old) I purchased a new battery tried the radio but it was asking for the radio code imput which I had on the radio documentaion card. I tried several times (10) and finaly it locked out. I drove to my local ford dealership where we bought the car way back in 94, and they confirmed that I was using the correct code and they had no idea why it would not accept the code and that I would have to send the radio away to have it unlocked, but was it worth it. I was told by a guy I know that told me to removed the radio and put it in the freezer for a day!! as it use to work with mobile phones!! As any one got any thoughts on both the problem on how to sovle the issue or the suggestion of freezing it.

Seal it in a plastic bag before you freeze it!
I've heard of people doing this but never tried it.

You need to take it to one of the small audio shops they have code readers for phones and stereos and have reset codes

If you have locked the radio, ie you cant enter anything at all, you need to leave it powered on for 1 hour - It will then re set and allow you to enter the code again.
You are entering the code correctly, aren't you ???
