Hiya I have joined because eons ago at age 21 I bought my first split windscreen Morris Minor which was itself 20 years old. It was a 1953 Morris Minor eg JDL 706 and that is an Isle of Wight Reg
When I did sell it I ask the buyer to let me know if ever he sold it again (as I was reluctant to sell it in the first place) Sadly he never did and I have just checked DVLA to find it is no more
Sadly it would not have been a collectors item without a respray because it's original grey paintwork was dull and my brother and I (both students at the time) painted it by hand in pale tangerine

Sacrilege I am sure to folk on here ...sorry. But I LOVED that car and it never let me down when friends much newer cars did. The only problem I did have was a sticking petrol pump which meant every so often I had to jump out and put up the bonnet and hit it with a large implement! Oh and I loved that bar hidden within the bumper.....I once reversed looking over the wrong shoulder and hit a lamp post and the lamp post shook!
In a few months time I will be 60 (did I really say that?) but in my head I am still 21

but I guess I am being nostalgic about the past now which is what made me search out my old friend who sadly seems to be no more.....
Can I ask what folk think would be the 'going rate' for a decent replacement of similar age in good nick please? Be gentle with me!!!
