Re: IT DOES NOT START
The issue seems to be your starter motor not engaging, does it make a sort of whirring sound? if not then the starter motor isn't working at all, so check the connections before whipping it out.

Re: IT DOES NOT START
Are you SURE the battery is ok? Are the headlights nice and bright - and do they stay bright when you try the starter? The click click is exactly the symptom of a flat battery.. Could be starter 'stuck in' - with Ignition OFF - car on level surface (NOT a hill) in top gear - handbrake off and gently rock the car and back and forth. If you hear a clunk - that will be the starter disengaging. Otherwise - check battery and earth cable connections - and solenoid connections and the connection to the starter itself.

Re: IT DOES NOT START
I think is the solenoid
How can I check if is this?
Can it be repaired?
Thank you

Re: IT DOES NOT START
Press the rubber boot on the end to see if that turns the engine. Note the solenoid needs to be well earthed - but if it 'clicks' that does suggest it is at least trying to work!

Re: IT DOES NOT START
could it be a bad connection? do you get a single click each time you turn the key? or do you get several clicks every time you turn the key?
If you get only a single click i would clean up all the connections to and from the battery
Multiple clicking on each turn suggests it is not a bad connection..

Re: IT DOES NOT START
Hmm - please explain - what could it be with 'multiple clicks' then if not a bad connection ?

Re: IT DOES NOT START
in past experience a bad connection will give a single "click" then nothing until you turn it off then try it again.
I have never experienced multiple "clicks" on each single turn of the key. that is what i was trying to get to

Re: IT DOES NOT START
Seems to me it could be arcs and sparks in the solenoid (or at bad connections) making the multiple clicks........

Re: IT DOES NOT START
It can happen with a low battery when there is more than enough power for the solenoid but not enough for the starter and solenoid.
When the starter tries to turn it uses the power that was operating the solenoid so the solenoid opens again.

Re: IT DOES NOT START
when you going to start your car ,coming out "TOK TOK " sound -that is come out from the solenoid - that sound says ,solenoid is fine - problem is your start motor - 1st check battery 2nd wires contacts 3rd remove the motor from the car and check terminal - I think your problem is FILED COIL of the motor - when the Filed coil short ,the magnetic power is low to rotate the motor then coming out " TOK TOK "sound from the solenoid with bad spark ,

Re: IT DOES NOT START
Sandun - the starter is a series wound machine - the field and armature are in series....... so any problem with the field continuity makes the whole thing dead. Like the Santa hat!!
