Wiper spindle nuts

Post by lockupchap »

Does anyone know what size and thread they are, and/or where they can be bought? I needed to cut my old ones off before painting the shell.

Why cut them - just unscrew them ! Release oil 24 hours in advance will help.

I tried soaking in Plusgas overnight, but they still wouldn't come off the threads. Rather than denting the scuttle further when the whole linkage box spun, I cut them off.

most / if not all the moggy spares place will sell them, they could well be the same across the entire BMC range.

2 different types. clap handed wipers will have 6 sided nuts. parallel wiping wipers have 8 sided nuts. be sure to specify which if you have to order some from one of the many minor parts suppliers.
