Seal / felt between door hinge and body / Door

Hi Chaps, taking my doors off I notice that there are sort of felt / material 'washers' the same shape as the hinge between the door and hinge, and then the hinge and body - presumably to protect the car paintwork or something - were these standard factory fit? Can you get new ones?

That's a new one on me..... sounds like a bodge to make the door fit.....

There are shims available but these are usually steel, and yes, they were a factory fit item to get the door gaps correct....

if the door gaps are ok I'd leave well alone.
