Hi,
I have finally finished preparing the interior for the rebuild.
Everything is out (and I MEAN everything) and so it is time to start the rebuild.
My problem is that I need to know how the bulkhead soundproofing is fitted.
Is it glued "hairy" side to the bulkhead or smooth side? I am assuming the hairy sode is glued to the bulkhead.
As for sequence, do I glue the soundproofing on first, then try to get the wiring and cables through (I assume I just make the holes as I need them?) I am assuming that I fit the soundproffing first, but I would hate to get it wrong!!!
Any other rebuild sequencing tips would be appreciated.

Hairy side to the bulkhead and cut holes as required, but it is normally fitted with brass studs that go through the holes that are already in the bulkhead. Do you still have the old sound proofing for reference?

Thanks for the response.
Yes I still have the old soundproofing, but I do not remember any brass studs when I removed it, but it was hanging off and so I just pilled it away.
(I also should have mentioned that my car is a 53 split screen, if that makes any difference)

I didn't have the brass studs so went to a local auto parts shop and got a few packets of plastic trim fasteners. We refer to this type as "Christmas tree" style here in the States, as the profile of the bit you push through the hole looks like a pine tree.
The only downside is that once in, they are nearly impossible to remove without destroying them. On the other hand, they're cheap. The ones I got had nice big heads (approx 25mm across) so do a dandy job of holding the soundproofing in place.

on the later Minor 1000's some of the soundproof wadding was glued in place - from memory the stuff behind the gloveboxes.
