Boot not locking
the key turns and pretends to lock it. Some one said my boot handle is upside down (1970 2 door saloon)my horns point downwards, could this be the cause?
Cheers Alex

Re: Boot not locking
The 'horns' are on the bottom side of Mog's boot handle, too (not that that means it's correct!). I think it shouldn't matter which way it goes.
"Pretends to lock it" means there's a locking feel? There's a 'clunk' of sorts?

Re: Boot not locking
Mine is the same.......clunks shut but turning the key makes no difference, it still opens.

Re: Boot not locking
Locking it should stop the handle turning, if you can still open the boot the striker plate probably needs adjusting.

Re: Boot not locking
thanks for that
just checked the lock with the boot up and it works
but when i lock it when the boot is closed ,i can still open it so it looks as if the striker plate is out of poition ,i hope
I wounder why i never thought of that

Being old and having seen lots of the different ways things fail helps a lot
.
The Minor boot lid isn't a very stiff structure which can leave scope for the catch to be defeated.
