Hi All
I'm cutting down a long story here, but basically, after problems with my 1098cc engine I have been told after having unleaded valve seats fitted that it is in fact a 803cc head!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is this possible 1098 engine with an 803 head, I checked the valves with another 1098 engine and they are slightly smaller.
Any input appreciated
Thanks
Reg

Re: 803 head on 1098 engine?
I think it is pretty much same as the 948 head. Will seriously drop the power of a 1098 engine. 1098 head will be marked 12G202. You really don't NEED unleaded - just set exhaust valve gaps to 15 thou, and check/reset every 3000 miles. Later 998 Mini heads are supposedly 'unleaded' - and are sometimes given away free.............

What's your engine number? My gold seal 1098 has a 948 head, and I believe someone else on here had exactly the same issue before. Bizarre.
