What do folk find is the best timing setting for U/L petrol, on an engine fitted with U/L head?
Can someone confirm (or otherwise) that 11 clicks on the dizzy venier is equal to 1 degree?

clicks
Yes, 11 clicks on the vernier equals one degree. The factory
settings for any engine timing are only starting points, with the
different fuels and LRP and additives nowadays each engine has
to be timed by trial and error for the optimum running setting.
Decide on which fuel you are going to use and then advance until
you get pinking and then retard by say 1/2 a degree(six clicks)
and see how it goes.
