Identifying Front Shock Absorbers

Post by MaltaMM »

Hi,

Can anyone kindly tell me exactly how to recognize the front shocks for our cars. A friend has invited me to have a look at a number of shock absorbers he found in his father's garage, I am looking for a pair of shocks for my 1967 Morris Minor. Although I know how they look like I wouldd like to be certain that if I find any they would be the correct fitment for my vehicle. Do the shock absorbers have any specific markings or numbers on them?

Thanks,
Stu

Hi,

The Armstrong front shockabsorbers have the model number RM 5382 L/R stamped on the back. The model number for rear shockabsorbers is RM 5381 L/R. Hope this would help.
