How long HT Leads.

Post by SGTBILKO »

I know it sounds a nit-picking sort of question but what lengths should HT leads be? I bought a set of silicone leads off ebay recently and they turned out to be main lead 48cms long and the other four 45cms. The ones on the car were; main lead 35cms, two at 28cms and two at 33cms. The measurements include caps. The longer leads look untidy in my opinion. I have seen, in a photo somewhere, a sort of clip to keep them together and photos of recently restored cars with long bright orange plug leads which seem to fill the engine bay.

Buy a 2 or 3 meter length of copper core HT lead and cut it to the required lengths.
Some people prefer side entry and others prefer top entry distributor caps, similarly with straight or angled spark plug caps
