Disc Brakes

Post by Mr Laurel »

Hi everyone.
My fiancée and I have recently brought an Morris Minor, and she’s great!!! :D
We were thinking about up grading the brakes on her to discs. Could anyone recommend a garage in the Shrewsbury/Shropshire area who could do this?

Thanks.

You'll need to fit a servo too, if you want an approximation of modern brakes.
Driving within the limitations of the brakes leads to a more relaxed journey, I find anyway.

Hi, welcome to this site. We have a poster "Alec" who comes from Oswestry. Suggest you PM him and ask if he knows of a local garage who could do the work for you.

Search on the forum for advice/comment on this - expect to pay between £600/£1000 to fit discs. If the car has the later 8" front drum brakes - then they are perfectly adequate for sane use of the car on the highway - provided they are in good working order of course. If the brakes won't lock the wheels at 20 mph on a dry road - they need overhauling.
