Weird running...

Post by Arthurdaily »

Hi, my 1098 morris is running in an odd way...

It has been fine for a while, when suddenyl, today, there was a slight issue, it idles, or drives, fine for about 8 seconds and then the revs go down almsot like fuel starvation for a couple of seconds and then fine again for about 8... and so on and so forth! Sort of vroom vroom vroom vroom vroom vroom pupupu vroom vroom vroom vroom vroom vroom pupupu vroom vroom vroom vroom vroom vroom :x

What could it be... if it was fuel starvation I thought it wouldn't be so rythmic!

Sticking butterfly valve or piston in the carb? Or perhaps it is fuel starvation?

Your condensor could be on the way out. Try replacing for a known good condensor and see if the problem goes away- cheap enough and quick enough to do.

THis is a problem with modern repro parts! Old Lucas condensors used to last for years without giving any trouble!
Cheers John - all comments IMHO

Aye -but some insist on changing the coil ( ) and fit one designed for ballast ignition with only 2.2 Ohms impedance - which quickly roasts the poor condenser....
