Hello, I'm new(ish) here...

Post by Aeroplonk »

Hi, I signed up to the forum a little while ago and have asked a couple of mechanical tech questions to which I've had some nice helpful answers, so I thought I should probably introduce myself...

I'm Matt, proud owner of my first Morris Minor purchased in late november 2010. Here she is:

She is a 1955 series 2 and a previous owner had her "upgraded" at Charles Ware's, namely; 1275 A+series engine, Ford type 9 gearbox, front discs and servo assistance, uprated suspension, sports exhuast, non-standard seats (don't know what seats in particular) and a two speed fan heater.

Since I've taken ownership I've had front seatbelts fitted, waxoyl professional rust-proofing, I've replaced a broken speedo cable (and drive gear), and replaced a broken halfshaft (oops) with a pair of toughened ones.

But mostly I've been enjoying driving her and I'm glad to report that it's been a lot of fun.

If anyone is in or around Basingstoke, I'd be interested to meet other Minor owners (are there any local club meets in the area?), as well as other classic owners in general.
