Hi, I am fitting new draught excluders to the front doors of my 1961 4 door and I have managed to remove the clips but there is a metal strip also holding the draught excluder on about level with where the door latch is that seems to be riveted on.. does anyone have any suggestions for removing it/reattaching it when the new draught excluders are on?

Hi RTanguy. You have probably solved this by now, but for the benefit of any others who may be contemplating the same, I have just now done exactly what you want to do. The metal strip just clips tightly around the draught excluder and is riveted to the upright trim piece that sits between the front and rear doors. This trim is just fixed with 3 or 4 spring clips into holes in the B pillar, and they will easily pop out if you pull the trim. (If you've ever taken the door trim off, it's the same principle).Once they are out you can gently (or not so gently) pull the metal strip off the draught excluder.
Refitting is (as they say) a reverse of the above.
