headgasket part 2

Post by surfergirl »

Hi,
finished fitting the headgasket this eve. Started the engine and checked for leaks and wot not, still lots of steam/vapour through the exhaust. So had a short run down the road and theres still white smoke/water vapour, could this just be whats left in the system and will take a few miles to burn off? Checked all the plugs and theres no water in the cylinder.
Cheers
Allie

Hopefully - yes! You need to retorque the head NOW - and then reset the valve gaps.

Extremely unusual - unless boiled dry, or frozen solid...........
