Hi all
When refurbing wheels do you paint inside same colour as outside or black / other colour
Just had my trav wheels blasted and not sure about colour inside
Did the MM black inside but they are green outside.

I used black chassis paint on the inside.

Whichever paint you use, it needs to be tough - wheels get scratched when tyres are fitted and therefore thicker paint is likely to be more heavily damaged. Personally I'd go for a good zinc rich red oxide primer all over and have them baked when finished.

The minor 1000 old-english-white wheels have a brown paint on the inside of the rim.
I'm not sure about the very late Minor 1000 wheels (silver)

so far rust inhibiting etch, 4 heavy coats 2 pack primer, then going to spray 2 pack old english white
Note to posters have use of oven for spraying

Crikey! Never tried using the oven for spraying - I find a spray gun works fine..... I have a mate who sprayed his MGC and his Austin 3 litre using a vacuum cleaner - fantastic gleaming cellulose.....

I had my wheels powder-coated, which is (very) expensive but virtually permanent, I'm given to understand. Most paints would be damaged with time...certainly you could go with a tough-wearing enamel, or I suppose two-pack but two-pack is toxic. (Unfortunately the shops around my part of the world seem to ONLY carry paints that require isocyanate hardeners.)
