3.7 Crown Wheel & Pinion

I've been offered a new old stock Midget 3.7 Crown Wheel and Pinion. As i'm thinking of putting a MG1275cc engine and gearbox in my minor, I was considering changing the diff but, now I've been offered the 3.7 gears I was just wondering if I can replace the 4.2 gears with the 3.7 gears as a straight swap? No machining etc.

I realise there's more too it than just un bolt and re-assemble etc, like setting the backlash, check bearings etc, but I can off load this to a pal.

If some-one has got a good and assembled 3.7 diff they like to sell, I may be interested as an alternative.

Yes the parts will fit - but setting up will be all important. Depends on the asking price if it's all worth it!
